So! For anyone who does not know, my Fiancee has a 2019 Hyundai Tucson. Recently, I was driving her vehicle and it got me wondering. What the hell is going on here? Personally, I am kind of a cheap guy to be honest. I like spending my money on interesting contraptions, but the idea of a vehicle for this has never occurred to me, as I usually see them as a pointless money pit. Nonetheless, she had a few things that REALLY stuck out to me as far as the technological developments in this car go. I’ll make a list, then go into them a little bit more. But be warned, this is just me talking about my personal experience in my Fiancee’s car, I am not sure what other vehicles carry these awesome features!

Not to mention! It received the 2019 IIHS Top Safety Pick+ when equipped with the Forward-Collision Avoidance Assist & LED Headlights built after March 2019.

2019 Hyundai Tucson

5 Cool Technological Advancements In This Car.

  • The Lane Assist
  • Auto-Hold
  • Collision Detection
  • Blue Link ®
  • Surround View Monitor

The Lane Assist

So I have to admit, I have tested the extent of this feature. DO NOT DO THIS! Sometimes, I will cruise control this puppy, and with this on, I feel like Ron Burgundy.

This is obviously a horrible idea, but hey, it’s fun! All jokes aside, this is a nice feature because it helps you to detect other vehicles around you, while staying in an optimal spot in your lane. I will say, it took some getting used to. It can feel like it jerks you around, but it is actually a very soft control feature.

Auto-Hold

This is a fairly small one, you simply press the Auto-Hold button near the gear shifter, and then whenever you fully stop the vehicle, it automatically holds it in place without having to depress the brakes anymore. This is awesome at long red lights, or even drive-throughs! All you have to do is accelerate and it will disengage the Auto-Hold.

Collision Detection

Another simple one, and pretty self explanatory! If you hit a blinker, the sensors on the car will beep madly if there is a car rapidly approaching you. It will also detect somebody in front of you if you are driving too quickly, and they are approaching your front-end!

Blue Link ®

So this is not that big of a deal to ME. However, tons of people that my fiancee and I have talked to think it is the bee’s knees. I know you can get a fob that allows you to start your car, but this thing actually allows a ton of controls from the app, and I am a huge sucker for apps & features. She likes to start the car and turn on the heated seats before she gets in on a cold day. I just decide to be stubborn and walk outside to turn it on and wait for it to heat up.

Surround View Monitor

The full 360-degree view allows you to see everything that surrounds you for better safety. Four cameras on the Tucson allow you to see from the front, sides, and rear, giving you a total view. This is a really cool idea, and after watching some videos with this in action, I think it is even cooler! This is pretty self-explanatory, but what is nice is just how much safety this provides!

Parental Vehicle?

We are not parents, but I think this has very nice potential for parents. The safety features explain pretty well what I mean. Not to mention that IIHS Top Safety Pick+ award. I would recommend at least a test-drive so that you can see it. I am personally a Ford guy, but these new Rams are grabbing my attention too! Thank you everyone for the read, drop a like down there and a follow.
