Connecting your Smart Home. If You Can Find One.

Don’t you wish that your home could be smarter than you? That you could connect every smart appliance and form a Monster House? That your house would hold more power and intellect than even YOU?! That you could use an app to make the light bulbs in your bathroom shine a nice Gamboge color? (Think Buddhist Monk Robes) Then maybe you should start looking into more Smart Home technology like the Wink Hub 2 and get with the program people.

Recent developments in the technology field are leaning more and more in the direction of automation, and interactive ability. Ranging from automated employment at McDonalds, to your bathroom light bulbs. It makes the home a little bit more fun, and allows for quite a bit of functionality too. One of my personal favorites is actually quite simple, a Smart Plug. That’s right, an outlet. You can turn that pesky lamp off from your phone! As far as fun goes, what if you could change all the light-bulbs in your house into SMART LIGHTBULBS! Well let me tell you my first experience with that.

My father is actually enamored with Gadgets, and keeps up with Smart Home Gadgets almost as much as i do. So he beckoned me one day to come and check out the downstairs lighting at his humble abode. He said “check this out” in a very matter-of-fact tone, and proceeded to pull out his phone like a cowboy with his revolver, activated his doo-dads, and madeg all the lights in the living room and foyer change to now shine a royal blue color. Then he turned to look me in the eyes and said “boom”. This would be really cool, but at the time it was like $40-$50 for one of these bulbs. And he had 9. So an expensive, albeit cool, experience. I am a little more practical, and try to look at how this stuff can help me. Even though I am a complete sucker for small and neat features!

Wink App

So all in all, this looks like an amazing product right? Well let’s just take a quick peek at the app as well, just so we can let Wink show off a little bit. It’s pretty self-explanatory, it will basically allow you control over your Smart Home through a simple, and very user-friendly app. There isn’t a whole ton to check out here, but the idea of a Smart Home Hub is pretty simple, so the app should be too right?

Very Nice

Where are the Winks at?

Looks like a bang-up job from Wink. Let’s cover the Nitty-Gritty skeleton in the closet though.

The product receives massive praise from anyone who has used it, but you will be hard-pressed to find one that isn’t being sold via. third party. This is by no means a swing at the product itself, it seems amazing. However, it is odd how much Wink has dodged questioning about why their restocking is always such an issue. Amazon is almost always out-of-stock when it comes to the Wink2, and I read recently that Wink has frequently redirected customer who contacted them to their nearest retailers? (For some reason they are in love with Home Depot)

Well that is gonna do it for this piece of Tech folks. All in all, it’s an awesome product! Great execution by the company with this one. I look forward to seeing what else Wink can bring to the table in the Smart Home field. Thank You all for reading, and enjoy your day!

I will never hide an Affiliate post. However, I will NOT be affiliated with this one. I love the Wink Hub 2, but the unreliable nature of their stocking just gives me an odd feeling. Regardless, I appreciate your support! It allows me to continue pursuing my passion, and providing you all with content.
