How Vaping Actually Works

Well well well, look what we are talking about today. Let’s go ahead get this out of the way now. I do the vaping. I have been for a long time. Don’t you find it odd that all these vaping issues are just coming up after 16 ENTIRE years? Regardless, let’s just look at some vaping facts today. My stance on this will be near the bottom of this article for anyone who is interested. Aside from that, I just want to get out some facts about how vaping works, and why it should be regulated.

To start, let’s just take a look at how vaping actually works alright? Your vape has a heating element inside of it. This is sometimes called an atomizer, or a coil. The coil will have cotton wrapped in it or around it depending on what style you use, this cotton will absorb the liquid. This is heated up via a battery, and the liquid is then vaporized and inhaled. Some vapes may have fancy micro-processors and screens or what not. Regulated Mods are a type of vape that has that chip in it so that you cannot be unsafe with your vape. These are a feat of electrical engineering, and should be treated with care. You don’t jam kitchen knives into your chest, don’t rub 18650 batteries on a stack of pennies, simple as that.

What is in Vape Juice?

The first thing to note, is that LEGAL e-liquid should have the ingredients on the bottles. E-liquid itself is made by mixing Propylene Glycol, Vegetable Glycerin, Nicotine and Food-Grade Flavoring. The idea here is that the E-Liquid is made with safe ingredients, and that is why you always need to buy from a reputable source, and not just some random guy with a bottle of juice.

Regulate Vaping

The Public Health England maintains to this moment that vaping is 95% safer than smoking cigarettes.

“It would be tragic if thousands of smokers who could quit with the help of an e-cigarette are being put off due to false fears about safety,” said Prof John Newton, director of health improvement at Public Health England. Here is a link to the article.

The big kicker here, is that you cannot just be running around and purchasing vape juice from wherever the heck you find it. And you NEVER BUY a THC cartridge from some random guy either. A multitude of issues have been coming up from people using illicit THC vape cartridges that contain Vitamin-E.

As a side note, the government needs to crack down on gas stations selling vapes. Or just stop the sales from gas stations as a whole. Why? Namely, a vast majority of underage sale has been attributed via the government sending them warning letters.

I am of the belief that some regulation would do everybody good. Impose a nicotine ban at 25mg, or just get rid of salt-nicotine all together. WOAH SALT!? Salt nicotine has lower alkalinity due to the benzoic acid in it which gives you a smoother throat hit and makes vaping at 50mg nicotine bearable. I don’t know why anyone would ever want that much nicotine, and we should at least instate a nicotine cap at around 25mg. Most kids are probably chasing a buzz, and that 50mg is too easy for them to achieve.

My Experience with Vaping & Quitting Smoking

I started smoking cigarettes when I was 16 years old. At the time I played tennis for my high school, and this was very hurtful for my training. My private coach even inquired as to why why my performance had been dropping, and I told him I was smoking cigarettes. Of course, I wouldn’t stop until I got my first vape at 18. I can’t recall the brand of the first one I had, but it helped me immensely. Since then I have dropped my nicotine levels, and rarely vape now. People who vape also form a very supportive community, and we all have the same goal in mind. STOP SMOKING CIGARETTES! That was the idea initially, and if you don’t believe me, just read about the patent from China. The Guardian did a piece on Hon Lik the inventor of vaping, and I find it very interesting.

Most people who have a hard time quitting never want somebody to tell them what to do. So when you say “Hey, that’s bad for you” that is not going to cut it. Otherwise, everybody who ever did hard drugs would stop. This is an alternative, so that people have a better choice to get their nicotine that actually works.

All in all, I just want people to find a better alternative to quitting smoking. If you have any loved ones who smoke and just won’t quit, this may be an alternative. My father quit smoking with a vape, and I did as well. To this end, please just try to be factual about this, and always check where you get information and products from.
